Support TWIS on Patreon

In the spirit of fundraising and remaining virtually ad-free, This Week in Science (TWIS) has started an account on Patreon.com.

What is Patreon? Well, it’s like Kickstarter for artists and media producers. But, instead of having one big campaign that ends on a particular date, Patreon takes into account the ongoing nature of art and media production. So, when you donate, you choose an amount that you want to give on an ongoing basis whenever we produce an new episode for you. For example, if you pledge to donate $5 per episode, at the end of a month you will be charged $20.

Very much like Kickstarter and other fundraising platforms, you will receive a gift from us in return for your support. We have created patches, new t-shirts, and could even record you a voicemail message!

If you love TWIS, all you need to do is head over to Patreon.com/ThisWeekinScience, and follow the instructions from there.

We are trying to raise at least $500 per episode in pledged support. The money will be used to buy TWIS new equipment, pay our bills, and give each of us a little something in our pockets for the work we do (personally speaking, money I get will be applied to childcare). If we are able to raise over $500 per episode, the monies will help support TWIS expansion. We would love to do more for science communication. We just have to get past the tipping point to make it happen.

You are how we hope to make it happen. Every little bit helps us reach our goals of informing and entertaining you.

So, if you do love TWIS, head over to Patreon.com/ThisWeekinScience right now, and pledge your support.

Thank you for your support. We really couldn’t do this without you.
