BLair’s Animal Corner
Hey Ladies, that housework MAY kill you!
Female Komodo Dragons live half as long as males, most likely due to energy expended on egg production and parental care, as well as what scientists deem “housework.” So next time you go to do those dishes, ladies, maybe let the men have a chance…

11:20 What’s it’s rotation?
I’m sorry, but the lack of intelligence in this conversation is just staggering. Alpha Centauri Bb is so close to it’s start as to be almost certainly tidally locked. For such a satellite, there is NO day/night cycle! A day is as the period of time it takes the sun to cross the sky, set, and return to the same point it began a day earlier. Being tidally locked, the same face of Alpha Centauri Bb is always pointed at the sun, so for an observer on the surface, the sun never moves across the sky. Duh.
11:35 Does that change the seasons?
There aren’t seasons, since there is no axial tilt, since there is no axis of rotation, since there is NO ROTATION AT ALL!!!
10:00 I don’t think there’s probably complex multicellular things going on over there…
12:10 You’d have organisms that would evolve with thick, heavy fur on one side…
Now, in the article, it even says the planet is baking hot, far too hot to sustain any kind of life as we know it, or even liquid water! So, all this speculation about living things, even single cells, is preposterous. It’s almost as if you DIDN’T ACTUALLY READ THE ARTICLE, but just skimmed the headlines! What else is new?
11:00 Don’t interrupt our conversation with facts, Kirsten!
How about you stop trying to preach your pseudoscience about “moments” and let her finish? Also, please stop doing the show high. We minions expect more from you.
15:10 Cosmic rays … go zipping THROUGH our planet all the time…
WHAT?! All the way THROUGH the Earth?! You must be thinking of Neutrinos, which hardly interact with matter at all, and can easily pass through the Earth. But Cosmic Rays are composed of nuclei and solitary electrons. These charged particles cannot penetrate very far into the Earth. That’s why we do Neutrino experiments about a kilometer underground, safe from the shower of Cosmic Rays!
Horrid audio. Could barly hear it.
